House Democrats are trying to put the finishing touches on health care reform, setting the stage for a vote within the next three days.

The House leadership delayed formal release of the legislation in order to plug in the cost analysis from the Congressional Budget Office. House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer says if the figures can be plugged in today, then Saturday or Sunday would be possibilities to advance the bill.

However, since Democrats are promising 72 hours for everyone to review the legislation once it's released, that could postpone the House vote until Sunday at the earliest -- the same day President Barack Obama plans to leave for an overseas trip. He's already delayed the trip once so he could be on hand for the vote and help snuff out any last-minute opposition.
