Cave of the Winds celebrating 130 year history

The Cave of the Winds is celebrating a huge milestone this year, their 130th Anniversary
The long time tourist attraction was opened in March 1881 by George W. Snyder and Charles Rheinhart.
The caves draw in more than 160-thousand people each year to take tours and explore the caves hidden within the mountain.
To commemorate the anniversary historian Richard Rhinehart with photographer Norman Thompson released the book "Cave of the Winds, Then and Now"
The book tells the story about the history of the cave. News 5 caught up with Rhinehart to talk about the long lasting interest by tourists over the years.
"Obviously there is a lot of interest in preserving this property and continuing to keep Williams Canyon wild and keep the Cave of the Winds as an attraction for people to come, not only from outside of the state of Colorado but from within the state too." said Rhinehart
Cave of the winds, then and now" is available at the attractions gift shop, area booksellers along the front range and online at Amazon.com
