NEW YORK - Tense moments along New York City's Hutchinson parkway after an elderly driver crashes into a gas pump and causes a massive fire.
Police say six people were hurt when the 70-year-old driver had a diabetic emergency and lost control of his car hitting the pump.
An off-duty police officer, who was pumping gas at the time, managed to pull the elderly driver from his wrecked car.
Moments later the flames erupt into a fiery mess, burning two other nearby cars.
The off-duty police officer says the whole incident happened so fast.
Four cars were damaged and six people were hurt, but their injuries were not considered life-threatening.
