Catching up with Rod Smith

Rod Smith is without a doubt one of the greatest players ever to wear a Bronco uniform. On the field #80 helped Denver win back to back Super Bowls en route to becoming the team's all time receiving leader. These days Rod has gone from the locker room to the board room as part of his budding coffee business. "I took my competitiveness from football and I transferred it to this business." he explains, "To be perfectly honest, I didn't know anything about the coffee business so I had to re-learn everything. That's what drives me, the learning and growing."

Though a long way from the football field, Smith still looks to the leadership shown to him in his playing days by Broncos owner Pat Bowlen. "Pat Bowlen has done an amazing job of putting a group of people out there to go out and prepare for greatness." Smith says, "It's all about team... it was never about one person."

Through the healthy coffee business he hopes he can inspire both coffee drinkers and business entrepreneurs to believe and succeed. "What happens to adults is we have these big dreams, and people and life start telling us we can't have them." he says, "The minute we start believing them we quit moving towards those dreams. I'm here to let people know you can start dreaming again."

Rod Smith will be taking part in a business meeting and coffee tasting for Organo Gold on Wednesday July, 14th at 7pm at the Embassy Suites Hotel at 7290 Commerce Center Drive in Colorado Springs. You can email Rod Smith about reserving a spot at the free coffee tasting at the Embassy Suites at or you can call him at 303-968-2733.
