Carrigan re-elected chair of CU Board of Regents

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - University of Colorado regents have re-elected Democrat Michael Carrigan as chairman of the Republican-controlled board.

Regents had failed to choose a chairman at a meeting last month despite 14 rounds of voting.

The Daily Camera reports that at a special meeting Monday, Carrigan garnered four votes to three votes for Republican Steve Bosley. Two board members abstained from the vote.

Republican Sue Sharkey of Windsor will be the vice chair of the board for the second straight year.
