Caro, Katherine Boo nominated for critics prizes

NEW YORK (AP) - Robert Caro, Katherine Boo and the late Anthony Shadid are among the finalists for the National Book Critics Circle prize.
Boo already has won the National Book Award for nonfiction for her nominated book, "Behind the Beautiful Forevers." Caro's latest on Lyndon Johnson, "The Passage of Power," was a National Book Award finalist. So was Shadid's memoir "House of Stone."
Fiction finalists announced Monday by the critics circle include novels by Ben Fountain and Zadie Smith.
Winners in six competitive categories will be announced Feb. 27.
