Care and Share Food Bank for Southern Colorado has named Lynne Telford as its new CEO.
She will begin her duties on March 14. Telford is currently Vice President at Pikes Peak United Way.
"We are so pleased that Lynne has chosen to work with Care and Share," said Rich Wood, Chief Governance Officer for Care and Share. "She is an exceptional community leader and is deeply committed to our mission of bridging the gap between hunger and abundance."
"I am passionate about serving the communities of Southern Colorado," said Ms. Telford. "Nothing is more important or basic in terms of social services than providing hunger relief. I am deeply committed to this mission and look forward to joining the tremendous staff and volunteers at Care and Share."
Care and Share's Board of Directors began a search for a new CEO in early January of 2011 to replace Deborah Tuck, who left the organization in December 2010.
Last year, Care and Share distributed 18.4 million pounds of food to more than 400 partner organizations in 31 counties across 52,000 square miles in southern Colorado.
