Cardinals place right-hander Lynn on 60-day DL

ST. LOUIS (AP) - Cardinals right-hander Lance Lynn was moved from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day DL after the team decided he couldn't recover from an oblique injury in time.

St. Louis also purchased the contract of outfielder Shane Robinson from Triple-A Memphis, adding defense with a right-handed bat in center field in time for Friday night's game against the Cincinnati Reds.

Allen Craig has started a handful of games in center with one glaring mistake, misplaying a ball that would have given Milwaukee's Ryan Braun an inside-the-park home run had Braun not stumbled twice between third and home on Wednesday night. Manager Tony La Russa said Craig, who's more comfortable at the corner spots, could play center again in September.

Lynn has been on the DL since Aug. 10 after injuring his left side making a pitch.
