A woman had her car stolen by an armed man at the Pueblo West Library according to the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office. A suspect was later arrested in Colorado Springs.
It happened around 12:30 at 298 E. Joe Martinez, less than a hundred yards from a Sheriff's Office Substation.
The woman, as yet unidentified, is 50 years old. She said she fought with a man who had a gun in his waistband. She said she struggled to remove the keys when the man got into her car and she was then dragged about 20 feet.
The car was a 2007 Mazda RX3, with a Lo-Jack system on board. State Patrol Officers located the car within three hours in Colorado Springs near 26th and Highway 24. They watched as a man rummaged through the car and then walked away. He was detained by Troopers and found to be carrying a handgun and other evidence.
The suspect was identified as Stevie Brown, 49. He faces charges of robbery and auto theft.
