Car crashes into townhome in Colorado Springs

A car has crashed into a townhome in the 6500 block of Baytree Grove in Colorado Springs, near Dublin and Rangewood.

The car hit a gas meter when it hit the building, severing the gas line. The gas leak forced the evacuation of 24 units of the Barrington Heights townhome complex. The line has now been capped and the residents allowed to return to their units.

Police at the scene say a woman returning home at 6:20 a.m. accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake.  Her car has now been removed from the building.

There were no injuries.
