COLORADO SPRINGS- Residents near the 1700 block of Palmer Park Boulevard were awakened early Saturday morning after a car barreled through three residentIal yards before crashing into a home.
Manual and Norene DeTorres were busy sweeping up broken glass and branches from their front yard all morning long.
Fortunately, the only damage to their property was a few down trees.
Their next door neighbor wasn't so lucky.
"The front part of the car was wrapped around the corner of their house," Manuel DeTorres said.
Damage from the impact can still be seen from the street.
The occupants inside the home at the time were not hurt.
The driver, identified as Andrew Horan, was taken to a nearby hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
DeTorres says this isn't the first time this type of accident has happened in his neighborhood.
Residents living nearby told News 5 off camera that they have also witnessed wrecks where drivers were either going to fast or were under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Police are still investigating this case and believe both speed and alcohol were factors in the collision.
No word yet on what charges Horan may face.
