A candlelight vigil is planned for Friday night for the two-year-old boy killed in Fountain, and his mother who was critically-injured Monday.
It's scheduled from 800 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. at Memorial Park in Colorado Springs. Organizers told NF5 on Facebook that it will be near the Veterans' Memorial.
Fountain Police say 27-year-old Shannon Paolini made a panicked 911 call Monday. When police arrived they saw Gammell Perez, Shannon's boyfriend and Gavin's father, in the window of Paolini's home holding a 9mm pistol. He yelled at officers once to leave. A short time later Paolini ran from the home, but Perez was behind her firing a gun. Police say her shot her five times in the back. Later when officers used a robot to enter the home they found the bodies of Perez and Gavin, with apparent gun shot wounds. Paolini was upgraded from critical to serious condition on Thursday.
