Call for a compromise

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama says Congress can avert $85 billion in automatic spending cuts set to begin Friday with "just a little bit of compromise."

Obama made the comments to the nation's governors at a White House meeting. Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal says it's up to the president to "show leadership." There is no indication that the White House and Congress are negotiating.
