A burning semi-trailer rig shut down I-25 south of Pueblo this morning for a couple of hours. The truck hit a guard rail, ripped open a gas tank and caught on fire, ending up off the side of the road.
And then it burned up. Thick black smoke was visible for miles. The engine and cab were consumed, and the food inside -- including ice cream -- was destroyed.
The driver was not injured. He is from Arizona.
Traffic was routed along a frontage road at Pueblo Boulevard and around the accident and was back open by 11 a.m.
