Burn restrictions increased in Elbert County

Elbert County has moved from Stage 2 to Stage 3 burn restrictions because of warm weather and dry conditions.

The Stage 3 rules will be in effect through April and May and possibly longer.

Not allowed under Stage 3 restrictions:

  • Open burning of any kind
  • Outdoor smoking unless in an area free of all flammable material
  • Use of model rockets
  • Fire places and wood stoves that do not have spark arrestors
  • Recreational vehicles that do not have spark arrestors

Elbert County residents can sign up for emergency messages by clicking here.
