Good news for one local business; Brush Strokes Ceramic Studio was able to raise a third of the money that they're behind in rent -- a requirement from their landlord to stay open.

News 5 featured the store in a story last week; it was behind $15,000. The Colorado Springs small business off of South Rockrimmon Blvd. had until Sunday to raise $5,000.

The business next door - the Squeak Soda Shop - decided to help out. Owner Joey Suntken started email and Facebook campaigns to generate support.

It looks like the plan is working; Brush Strokes hit their mark, and did more business in one week than they've ever done in a whole month!

They now have until the end of the December to raise the remaining $10,000.
