A brush fire burning in the Salt Creek area of Pueblo is now almost out.

It burned along the Arkansas River, east of Joplin and north of Highway 50 in Blende.

Update: The fire started just east of Joplin Road on the south side of the Arkansas River. It burned rapidly to the east along the river bottom. No structures were destroyed, but one Sheriff's Officer estimated that 200 acres of grass, brush and trees had burned. Firefighters were on hand to make sure the flames didn't make it to Aspen Road on the east or go up an embankment and threaten businesses in Blende.
