Broncos struggle in first half

The Broncos are now on the wrong end of a bad stat. They went into the half time locker room losing 22-0. Only twice has there been a bigger defecit midway through the Super Bowl, and all three times, the Broncos were on the losing end.

The Broncos gave up a safety on the first play of the game.  They only managed 11 yards on the first 7 plays of the game: the safety, and two 3-and-outs. They didn't create a first down until 10 minutes left in the 2nd quarter.

Peyton Manning threw two interceptions, one of them returned 69 yards for a touchdown.

It's the first time the Broncos have been shut out in a half all season, and the first time a team has been shut out in the Super Bowl since the Giants loss to the Ravens in Super Bowl XXXV.
