The Broncos are reacting to Danny Trevathan injuring his left knee during Tuesday's practice.
Trevathan suffered a medial tibia impaction or essentially a fractured bone right below the knee. He is expected to miss four to eight weeks.
He injured it during 11-on-11 scrimmages when he got rolled on by center Will Montgomery.
"You just hate it. You hate it in a game when you see that and you hate it out here in practice. Our prayers are with Danny," said Peyton Manning. "We're praying for positive results and hopefully he is OK. He is an important part of our football team."
"We just do the testing, but you never like to see any player go down. We will just have to wait and see what the results are," Head Coach John Fox said.
"I didn't have a clean view of it. I saw when he went down, but how exactly it happened was away from me."
Brandon Marshall is expected to take over the position in Trevathan's stead.
