TODAY: Partly cloudy, breezy and chilly. High temps only around 38 in the Springs and 43 in Pueblo. Brisk winds at times from the north/northwest at 15-20 mph. During the late morning and early afternoon there will also be a chance of a few light snow flurries across the Pikes Peak region and eastern Colorado as wave of energy rolls across the Palmer Divide and then through the rest of the News 5 viewing area. No accumulations are expected
TONIGHT: Starry and cold overnight. With the clearing skies temps will tumble to about 16 in Colorado Springs and 11 in Pueblo. It will stay a bit breezy at times to begin the evening...then a little calmer and colder by sunrise Saturday morning.
SATURDAY-SUNDAY: Still expecting a ‘big' warm-up for the weekend. Temps tomorrow will be at least 15 degrees compared to our chilly temps yesterday and today. Both days we'll have plenty of sunshine and lighter winds...some great weather for being outside. By later on Sunday there will be another Pacific short wave of energy that will bring some light snow back to the high country through Monday. There is a slight chance Sunday night and early Monday that we could even see a few stray showers over Teller County and the Wet & Sangre de Cristo Mountains.
PRESIDENT'S DAY: Slight chance early in the day of a few light snow showers in those areas and at the ski resorts. The lower elevations will likely be staying dry with breezy and colder temps. High temps will only reach 36 degrees in Colorado Springs and 39 in Pueblo and Canon City under mostly sunny skies
TUESDAY: Mostly sunny skies again with warmer temps for the second day of the week. Temps for the eastern half of the state will be 8-10 degrees warmer.
WEDNESDAY: Quiet beginning to the day, but we will expect the parade of storms across the mountains to continue. Plan on more measureable snow for your favorite place to make some turns and be watching by Wednesday night into Thursday for another chance for light snow along the Front Range. Temps during the afternoon Wednesday day will be in the 40's for most of the lower elevations.
THURSDAY: Snow showers possible during the morning commute to work or school. Temps all-day will be much colder than Wednesday...only around 32 in the Springs and the mid 30's in Canon, Pueblo and La Junta.
