Drugs like Tamoxifen and Evista significantly reduce the risk for developing invasive breast cancer -- but they may also increase the risk for blood clots.

Researchers reviewed 8 clinical trials about the benefits and harms associated with these drugs among women who've never had breast cancer but are at high risk for the disease.

Tamoxifen was also linked to an increased risk for endometrial cancer and cataracts.

The Study was led by researchers at Oregon Health & Science University and published in the Annals of Internal Medicine.
