A man is being sought by police after he forcibly kidnapped his estranged girlfriend and physically assaulted her early Saturday morning. Officers from the Colorado Springs Police Department are securing an arrest warrant for a man who kidnapped his former girlfriend and punched her several times as she attempted to escape.

Police originally responded to a trailer park community at 3410 N. El Paso Street on the initial report of a domestic dispute. Before officers arrived the man forced his former girlfriend into a vehicle and fled the area.

Multiple calls came in to the police communication center detailing a rolling dispute. Eventually the woman was located in the 4000 block of N. Chestnut Street which is in the Holland Park area where officers learned the identity of the suspect. As an investigation continues, police are securing an arrest warrant for the suspect, whose identity has yet to be released.

The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and was treated then released from a local hospital.
