Boy killed, man hospitalized after ATV crash

A 5-year-old boy is dead after an ATV crash Tuesday afternoon.

The Colorado State Patrol says the crash happened on private property near Colorado 160, 14 miles west of Walsenburg about 2:15 p.m.

The ATV was traveling up a steep hill when it rolled backwards on top of the two riders. A 5-year-old boy was killed. The driver, Guy Webber, 71, was taken to the hospital for serious injuries. Neither was wearing a helmet or protective equipment.

At this time, alcohol and drug use are not suspected as contributing factors to the crash. The State Patrol has not said if charges will be filed.
