BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - A wildfire in the foothills west of Boulder is 60 percent contained after crews made good progress overnight.
Fire managers said Saturday they're focusing on strengthening and extending their containment lines around the blaze in Lefthand Canyon. They put the size of the burn area at 400 acres, double the estimates on Friday.
Twelve homes and six other buildings were threatened, but none have been damaged.
An air tanker dropped fire retardant on Friday. A helicopter was on the scene Saturday.
Fire managers say the blaze was caused by people but they haven't said how it started.
Officials say they expect favorable weather Saturday with higher humidity and lower winds than on Friday.
