The Boulder County Humane Society is taking-in dogs that have been displaced by the Fourmile Canyon Fire. To make room for the displaced dogs, 20 dogs available for adoption are being sent to the Pikes Peak Humane Society.

The local humane society already had 60 dogs available for adoption--that's a whole lotta hounds!

Jan McHugh-Smith, humane society President & CEO said, "We are asking El Paso County residents to take part here in Colorado Springs by considering the adoption of a wonderful dog in need. And if you feel that right now is not the right time for you, perhaps consider donating to the care of the dogs transferred down here."

Dogs are available for adoption M-F, 11 am - 5:15 pm and Sunday until 3:15 pm.

Check their web site for more information.
