Colorado Springs Police say the man now in custody for making a bomb threat at the Gold Hills Substation is 27 and homeless.
Konstantin Chelyadin was arrested this afternoon. The substation was evacuated and after three hours, was judged to be safe.
Police said the man entered with a backpack, went to the front desk and during a conversation, said he had a bomb in his backpack which would go off in thirty minutes.
The building was evacuated and everyone was moved back 100 yards. Those in nearby apartments and homes were told to stay away from windows. Sgt Darrin Abbink told News First 5, "It's very manpower intensive. It's very disruptive, but we have to take things slow when we're thinking about potential explosive devices, going fast could just be disastrous for everybody."
No explosives were found.
