The body of a climber who fell into Mt. St. Helens crater has been recovered, according to a Washington state sheriff.

Joseph Bohlig, 52, and his climbing group reached the mouth of the crater Monday following a four hour climb. He handed his camera to a fellow climber to take a photo--took a step backwards--and the snow gave way. Bohlig fell 1,500 feet.

He was seen moving after his fall, but died sometime later.
