Chaffee County Search and Rescue teams have found two bodies in the area of Missouri Mountain where a father and daughter went missing June 22nd.

The bodies have yet to be positively identified but early reports claim that they match those of two people of the same approximate age and descriptions.

Dr. Michael von Gortler and his daughter Makana, a student at the University of Colorado, went to climb Missouri Mountain part of the Collegiate Peaks on June located between Buena Vista and Independence Pass in the in the Sawatch Range of Central Colorado.

Makana sent a text message to a friend saying she and her father were hiking Missouri Mountain on the 22nd but would be back down on June 23. Six days later, the doctor's pickup was still at the trailhead.

More than 40 search and rescue team members from Chaffee County and some surrounding counties searched on the ground and by air until weather forced teams to stick to a ground search.
