Blagojevich at trial: Didn't know it was illegal

CHICAGO (AP) - Rod Blagojevich has told a judge at his corruption trial that he thought he was acting legally when he made plans to seek a top federal job in exchange for giving a Senate seat to someone of President Barack Obama's choosing.
But the judge says jurors won't be allowed to hear most of that testimony. He says he's not sure whether the belief by the former Illinois governor that he was acting legally has any bearing on the case.
The ousted Illinois governor is on the stand for a fourth day. He's told jurors that he turned down an offer of cash for the Senate seat because that wouldn't have been legal. The former governor denies all wrongdoing. He faces 20 criminal counts, including attempted extortion, conspiracy to commit bribery
and wire fraud.
