Did you realize your detergent is one of the most popular black market commodities?
Turns out crooks are looking to turn a quick profit by shoplifting and selling Tide laundry detergent.
Thieves are being caught on surveillance cameras across the country and now that orang bottle is being termed "liquid gold." Inside a Maryland supermarket, a crook is caught loading his cart with 15-20 bottles of Tide and taking off out of the story to an awaiting get-away car. Shortly afterwards, that suspect's accomplice is caught on camera selling the load to a nail salon.
Tide's popularity and high price are contributing to its popularity among these black market bandits. The rise is crime is prompting national retailers, like CVS, to consider special security measures to keep Tide tied down.
