Former President Bill Clinton is pleading with Colorado Democrats to stick with Democratic Sen. Michael Bennet, saying that a vote for Republicans would return the nation to dangerous times.
About 2,000 people packed a high school gym Monday in northeast Denver to hear Clinton speak in a rally that harkened back to the past as he stumped for Bennet.
The former president is touring the nation whipping up support for vulnerable Democrats.
In Colorado, Clinton told Democrats that Republican Ken Buck wants voters to think only about their anger at the current economy. Clinton insisted Republicans are to blame for the current problems and shouldn't be returned to office.
The Buck campaign issued this statement: "We hope President Clinton's second endorsement in this senate race is just as successful as his first." Bill Clinton endorsed Bennet's Democratic opponent in the primary, Andrew Romanoff.
Early voting is already underway in Colorado.
