A short stretch of southbound I-25 will have various lane closures over the next two weeks while road crews replace concrete roadway panels. The affected highway runs from south of Bijou Street to the bridge over Colorado Avenue. During this work vehicles will be able to exit and enter southbound I-25 at Bijou Street. Work is scheduled to be complete by the morning of December 24th. Drivers are asked to be alert to traffic controls, and to drive carefully through the work zone, where speeds limits will be reduced to 45 mph.
Details of the closures are as follows:
· Saturday, December 12, from 10:00 a.m. - ongoing through Friday, December 18th at 8:00 a.m., two southbound lanes (left and center) will be closed, while two lanes (right and auxiliary) will be open for use.
· Saturday, December 19, between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., two southbound lanes will be closed (left and center lanes), and traffic will be channeled to one through-lane (right lane), while traffic barriers are relocated and detour striping is put into place. Traffic delays are expected. Consider alternate routes and plan travel time accordingly.
· December 19, from 10:00 a.m. ongoing through Thursday morning, December 24th at 5:30 a.m., two lanes (right and auxiliary lanes) will be closed, while two lanes (left and center lanes) will be open for use.
