Big Dogs quarterback is named "Athlete of the Week"

Florence High School's Cody Nichols is this week's "Loaf ‘N Jug Gatorade High School Athlete of the Week."
Cody is a senior quarterback for the Florence football team and he just led the Huskies to a 35-7 win over Bennett in the 2A state quarterfinals. He threw a 47-yard touchdown pass to Erik Tingey and also ran for a pair of touchdowns. . Cody said he was honored to be named the "Athlete of the Week."
"You don't really think of it really," said Cody. "You just go out there and play the game and you don't think everyone's watching or you're going to be picked, so it's pretty cool. It feels good."
Cody also plays basketball, baseball, and does track. he also enjoys snowboarding.
The Florence Huskies host Kent Denver Saturday at one in the 2A state semifinals.
