Vice President Joe Biden is surveying flood damage in north Georgia and meeting with residents displaced by severe storms that swept through the Southeast earlier this week.
Biden met with residents at a shelter in suburban Atlanta on Friday as the region braced for another round of rain.
The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch that includes parts of the Southeast, including the metro Atlanta area. Forecasters say the grounds are still saturated.
President Barack Obama has declared parts of Georgia a disaster and ordered federal aid to assist state and local recovery efforts. At least 10 deaths in Georgia and Alabama were blamed on the torrential downpours.
