The City of Colorado Springs has issued a warning to citizens about a possible "scam" involving street repair.
A group, reportedly dressed in safety vests and driving red Ford trucks, has approached citizens following street resurfacing and concrete work.
"We understand this group has followed behind our crews and has knocked on citizens doors, stating they are contracted by the City to dispose of surplus material from the recent projects and offering to repair driveways for $1,500," said Allen Peterson. "We want to clarify that we have not authorized any such work to be done. Any group doing this is trying to take advantage of unsuspecting citizens."
Peterson encourages anyone with information about these activities to call Colorado Springs Police at 444-7000.
