Bessemer cleanup begins this weekend

The Bessemer neighborhood in Pueblo is holding their annual "Bessemer Cleanup", this weekend.

Residents may dispose of tree and shrub trimmings, cut 6 feet or less, old scrap appliances, passenger tires, scrap lumber, mattresses, and old furniture. Yard waste, such as leaves, weeds, and cut grass must be bagged. Food and packaging garbage, household hazardous waste or liquids, TVs, computers, refrigerators, freezers or air conditioners will NOT be accepted. Participants must pre-purchase tickets to dispose of waste at the clean-up. A limited number of seniors and disabled residents, without any means of delivery, may request curbside pick-up assistance by signing up when tickets are purchased. Tickets need to be pre-purchased.

The cleanup begins at 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the lot at Abriendo Avenue and Canal Street Enter off Abriendo Ave. southbound across from Evraz Main Offices.
