Bent County Wildfire re-surges after 85% containment

A fire that flared up Saturday that forced the evacuation of several homes in Bent County was reported at 85% contained by 5:30 p.m. last night. Today, Bent County EMS reports that the fire has re-flared and grown to over 7,000 acres. Strong winds have pushed the fire from the South side of the Arkansas River to the North and county officials have issued a reverse 911 to evacuate several more homes in the burn area.

Colorado Highway 50 is still open according to Colorado State Patrol but several county roads in the immediate area are closed to all but emergency crews working the fire containment.
