U.S. Sen. Mike Bennet says he's looking for ways to resolve concerns about a program intended to help people make their homes more energy efficient.

Some Colorado communities are questioning their involvement in the program called Property Assessed Clean Energy, or PACE. Communities provide loans to homeowners for improvements making their property more energy efficient. But officials say they're concerned about notices from federal lenders Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac implying they might not buy mortgages with liens on them from programs like Boulder's ClimateSmart. The U.S. Department of Energy has also released new guidelines.

Bennet's wife, Susan Daggett, representing the senator's campaign, and contractors plan a news conference Wednesday on the PACE program and the jobs it can create.
