DURANGO, Colo. (AP) - A beaver is being blamed for a power failure that left about 240 southwest Colorado utility customers without electricity.
La Plata Electric Association says a beaver felled an aspen tree that fell across a power line on Sunday.
The Durango Herald reports that residents in the Purgatory and Cascade Village areas were affected.
The blackout hit at 5:15 a.m. and lasted about 2 ½ hours.
