Bear tranquilized at CU-Boulder campus

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - A bear who wandered onto the University of Colorado campus is being relocated to the mountains.

The 200-pound male wandered around a residence hall area - near the Bear Creek Apartments - Thursday morning before climbing a tree. The bear rested there for about two hours and then was tranquilized by state wildlife officers. Campus police spokesman Ryan Huff said the bear fell onto thick mats provided by the campus' recreation center and then taken to a higher elevation.
