ALAMOSA, Colo. (AP) - A primitive road over Medano Pass in Great Sand Dunes National Park has been closed because of flood damage.
The National Park Service says the storm on Monday washed down ash and debris from last year's burn areas.
According to the Denver Post, the road is closed from Castle Creek Picnic Area to Medano Lake Trailhead about half a mile below the Medano Pass summit.
The main Dunes Parking Area and paved park roads remain open.
