FORT LUPTON, Colo. (AP) - Authorities say a man shot his son and then himself at a home in the Fort Lupton area.

Weld County Undersheriff Margie Martinez tells the Greeley Tribune that the shooting occurred at about 5:50 p.m. Monday. The home is just south of Fort Lupton.

Martinez says an air ambulance was called for the 53-year-old father, who was seriously wounded. She says the 21-year-old son wasn't as badly wounded, but he was also taken to the hospital.

Both were taken to Denver Health Medical Center. Their names haven't been released.

Martinez says the shootings might have been a murder-suicide attempt, but that is being investigated.
