Austin Bluffs widening slated to begin in July

COLORADO SPRINGS - Plans are underway to widen Austin Bluffs Parkway this summer making the road a continuous 6 lane divided road from I-25 past Barnes Road. The work will be completed in three stages including a section from North Nevada Avenue to Union Boulevard, from Union to Beverly St. and from Barnes Road to to Old Farm Road.
The Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority is expected to award the contract in the coming months with construction scheduled to begin in July. There will be an open house meeting about the project Wednesday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Calvary United Methodist Church, 4210 Austin Bluffs Parkway.
