(AP) - Victims and their families are being allowed to tour the Colorado movie theater where 12 people were killed and dozens were injured.

The family visits begin on Tuesday and will continue Wednesday.

The complex will officially reopen Thursday during an event billed as an evening of remembrance, with speeches from state and local officials.

The Denver Post reports (http://tinyurl.com/aaj7le2 ) the city of Aurora expects to distribute nearly 2,000 tickets to victims, emergency responders and hospital workers. Aurora officials say counselors will be available for anyone needing support during the tours or special event.

James Holmes is charged with killing 12 and injuring 70 people on July 20 at the theater in the Denver suburb. The Batman movie "The Dark Night Rises" was showing at the time.
