FIRESTONE, Colo. (AP) - A former Marine is standing guard at a charter school in Firestone in the wake of the school shootings in Connecticut.
Jared Vejrostek is uniform, but he is not carrying a weapon. He believes his presence is enough to deter any violence at the Imagine Charter School, where two of his daughters are attending classes.
According to the Longmont Times-Call (http://tinyurl.com/cf3m23a ), Vejrostek got the idea from another Marine who decided to take a turn at guard duty in Nashville, Tenn.
