Attempted abduction of teenage boy in Golden

The Jefferson County Sheriff's office says a man tried to abduct a 13-year-old boy in Golden early Saturday night. It happened on West 2nd Avenue, in a neighborhood just off I-70 about halfway between C-470 and 6th Avenue. The suspect is described as a white man wearing a red jersey and red hat. He was driving a dark blue 4-door sedan. The boy's mother got a photo of the suspect and vehicle before it drove off. JeffCo deputies have not said whether they think this attempted abduction is related in any way to the abduction and murder of Jessica Ridgeway.
