Former NASA astronaut and Colorado Springs resident Jim Reilly, II will speak with students at the Jack Swigert Aerospace Academy on Friday about his experiences in space. The three time shuttle mission veteran is making the visit thanks to a unique co-operative agreement between the school and the Space Foundation.

"This is a rare opportunity for students to hear an astronaut share Space Shuttle experiences," said Space Foundation vice president of education Iain Probert.

"We thank Dr. Reilly for generously donating his time to inspire these young people."

The Swigert Academy is a new aerospace themed middle school created through a partnership between Colorado Springs School District 11 and the Space Foundation. The Space Foundation's educational outreach programs are housed on campus and help to develop the school's space themed curriculum.
