Aspen airport officials are seeing more pedestrians wander into an area where planes taxi to and from the runway in the section for private jets.

They have asked Federal Aviation Administration officials to visit this weekend to observe and brainstorm how to stop it.

Airport director Jim Elwood says no one has interfered with flight traffic, and no one has been in danger. Still, administrators have erected signs warning people to stay off the taxiing area, and staff are posted there to shoo people away.

Elwood says most wanderers appear to be trying to photograph the picturesque surroundings. One was a pilot walking around trying to get better reception on a mobile phone.

People have managed to stay off the runway.
