Artwork recovered

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Authorities say they have recovered a small Rembrandt drawing that was taken over the weekend from a Southern California luxury hotel.

The Dutch master's quill pen and ink drawing titled "The Judgment" measures approximately 11 inches by 6 inches and is worth $250,000.

Los Angeles County sheriff's officials announced early Tuesday that it had been recovered, but did not provide further details. A call to the sheriff's office was not immediately returned.

The sheriff's office says an art thief managed to steal the drawing Saturday from a private art display in the Ritz-Carlton Hotel lobby in Marina del Rey while the exhibition curator was momentarily distracted.
