William Gooch was booked into the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center Tuesday and is currently being held without bond on the charges of First Degree Arson, Felony Menacing, and Failure to leave premises upon request of a peace officer. The man accused of setting his house on fire during a stand off in northern El Paso County is listed in critical condition at the University of Colorado Hospital in Denver.

According to deputies with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office, Gooch threatened to kill himself during a 3 and a half hour standoff, at a home in Elbert owned by his estranged wife on Monday.
